Originally released as two albums in 2002; 'Dust Bug Cecil' and 'Let Me Eat The Flowers'. Singer / guitarist Syd Howells describes it thus:
"Following the behemoth like ‘Music From The Empty Quarter’ we went in search of tunes. Found some too. Glued them together with words and somehow found ourselves making a ‘pop’ album. A mainstream audience was not for us. The title for the album ‘Dust Bug Cecil’ was taken from an out-of-print book about a direct to disc recording pioneer. New songs were written, some borrowed from Thee Babelfish’s ‘Southern Discomfort’ album and dubbed and altered (one of which ‘Eyes on Stalks’ was issued as a single on Swansea’s Taffpop Records and ended up in the hands of John Peel). The result was a ‘pop’ album with an emphasis on the album part and a lot less on the popular. In hindsight I wish we had not done some of the songs but as I am no Stalinist they remain. A monument for a group of people seeking something they had no idea of. ‘Let Me Eat The Flowers’ which followed it was a continuation of seeking these strange songs and on listening back sounds damn close to our uncertain mission."
